The REALITY Israel Experience – a free exclusive trip to Israel for Teach For America corps members – is a unique journey of leadership development and self-discovery.

REALITY Israel Experience takes a cohort of current Teach For America corps members on an all expenses-paid, 12-day journey across Israel to help them build their understanding of their own unique leadership, reflect on the role of their identity on their work, recharge their conviction about justice and opportunity, and consider where they want to make their long-term impact in the Teach For America movement. Corps members get to visit some of the world’s most storied and sacred sites along the way and leave Israel with new skills, tools and motivation to make meaningful differences in the communities and classrooms in which they live and work.

The REALITY Israel program is in its fourth year and has more than 140 alumni representing nearly every region across the Teach For America network. Corps members are selected based on prior achievements, potential to transform participation into meaningful action, and ability to contribute positively to the group experience. The first three trips were such a success that 100% of REALITY 2009, 2010 and 2011 participants strongly agreed that they would recommend the trip to a friend!

The 2012 REALITY Israel Experience will take place July 17-29. All travel, food, lodging and touring expenses are covered, including air transportation from the domestic airport of your choice to New York, where the flight for Israel will depart.
